Big Game director helms historical action film set during World War II
Sisu, also known as Immortal, is a historical action film written and directed by Jalmari Helander for Sony Pictures Releasing. Helander’s previous directing credits include Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale in 2010 and 2014’s Big Game. After premiering at TIFF, Sisu received significant critical praise, boasting a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on fourteen reviews at the time of writing. It is produced by Petri Jokiranta with cinematography handled by Kjell Lagerroos.
Jorma Tommila, known for his roles in Helander's previous works like Rare Exports and Big Game, plays the lead character of a hardened Nazi-fighting prospector named Aatami Korpi in Sisu. He stars alongside his real-life son Onni Tommila who also appeared in Helander's previous movies. The rest of the cast includes Aksel Hennie, Paul Anderson, Jack Doolan, and Mimosa Willamo.
