High-octane comedy thriller promises a grizzly rampage
Cocaine Bear is a comedy-thriller directed by Elizabeth Banks and written by Jimmy Warden for Universal Pictures. Phil Lord & Chris Miller serve as producers along with Aditya Sood, Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman, Brian Duffield. The film is inspired by the real-life story of a duffel bag full of cocaine, which accidentally fell out of an airplane of a former narcotics agent-turned-smuggler in 1985. An American black bear discovered the bag and unintentionally consumed the contents within it.
The ensemble cast includes Keri Russell, who reunites with her co-star from The Americans, Margo Martindale. Ray Liotta, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kristofer Hivju, Kahyun Kim, Christian Convery and Brooklynn Prince round out the cast along with newcomer Scott Seiss.
