James Cameron concludes his juggernaut Avatar franchise with fifth entry
Avatar 5 is an upcoming science-fiction film directed by James Cameron for 20th Century Studios. It is the direct sequel of Avatar 4 and fifth installment of the Avatar franchise. Cameron co-wrote the screenplay alongside Josh Friedman who previously collaborated with him on every Avatar entry except the first one. Friedman previously wrote the screenplay for The Black Dahlia in 2006. The Avatar series remains exceptionally successful, establishing itself as one of the most lucrative franchises to date. At the time of writing, the first film currently holds the record for the highest worldwide box office gross while Avatar: The Way of Water ranks third in terms of box office earnings.
The fifth installment of the film features an outstanding group of talented actors reuniting to portray the captivating characters once again. This ensemble includes Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, Zoë Saldaña as Neytiri, Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, CCH Pounder as Mo'at, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, Matt Gerald as Corporal Lyle Wainfleet, Oona Chaplin as Varang and David Thewlis.
Alongside the aforementioned cast, Giovanni Ribisi returns to portray Parker Selfridge, and Dileep Rao reprises his role as Dr. Max Patel. Joel David Moore takes on the character of Dr. Norm Spellman once again, while Edie Falco is General Frances Ardmore. Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh and Jemaine Clement rounds out the cast as Dr. Karina Mogue and Dr. Ian Garvin respectively.
