Synopsis
Virgin River Season 5 sees fresh drama for the inhabitants of this small town in Northern California
The residents of Virgin River are back and there are plenty of changes happening. Jack is trying to stay on the straight and narrow, especially now that he is soon to be a father. Mel is facing the prospect of her new friend Cameron leaving Virgin River after being unable to contain his feelings for her while also dealing with being pregnant. Meanwhile, the father of Charmaine’s twins remains unknown. Hope is still recovering from her brain injury while also keeping on top of her duties as mayor.

Patrick Sean Smith takes on the reins of showrunner for Virgin River Season 5
Virgin River Season 5 is a romantic comedy-drama television series. The show is based on the Virgin River novels written by Robyn Carr. Virgin River Season 5 is produced by Reel World Management and distributed by Netflix. Season 5 of Virgin River has a total of 12 episodes and features Patrick Sean Smith taking over as showrunner from Sue Tenney. Smith is known for his work on Supernatural, Chasing Life, and Heartstrings. The confirmed directors for season 5 include Monika Mitchell, Martin Wood, Andy Mikita, and Gail Harvey, all of whom have directed in the series before. Directors Felipe Rodriguez and Jem Garrard are making their directorial debuts in the series.
Alexandra Breckenridge returns as the main character, Mel Monroe. Martin Henderson plays Jack Sheridan while Annette O’Toole returns as Hope McCreea. Tim Matheson is once again portraying Dr. Vernon Mullins and Benjamin Hollingsworth plays Dan Brady. Zibby Allen, Gwynyth Walsh, and Colin Lawrence star as Brie Sheridan, Jo Ellen, and John ‘Preacher’ Middleton respectively. The wider returning cast includes Sarah Dugdale, Jenny Cooper, Nicola Cavendish, and Chase Petriw among others. Virgin River Season 5 also features new cast members such as Kandyse McClure, Susan Hogan, Elise Gatien, and Paolo Maiolo. Virgin River Season 5 was released on September 7th, 2023 on the streaming service Netflix.
