Conspiracies are always lurking in the darkness and just as one gets uncovered and dismantled another grows in strength. Jack Ryan has always worked within the institutions of security and government. But what to do when the conspiracy catches the very people who are trying to root it out? On the run from the CIA, Ryan must use what few resources he has in order to survive and unmask the villainous element seeking to bring him down. An international rogue faction is at play and to defeat them Jack Ryan will have to cross borders and stay underground in a host of European countries. Along the way he might just run into some familiar faces but can he trust anyone anymore?
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 3 is an American action thriller television series. The show is based on the fictional character Jack Ryan created by novelist Tom Clancy. After previous showrunner Carlton Cuse stepped down, Vaun Wilmott takes over the reins in guiding the third season. Wilmott has worked on Prison Break, Star Trek: Discovery, and Sons of Anarchy. The third season also sees a host of new writers including Amy Berg and Dario Scardapane.
Dr. Jack Ryan is once again portrayed by John Krasinski who also takes on the role of executive producer for this season. Wendell Pierce returns as James Greer, the CIA agent who is Ryan’s boss and partner in the field. While many characters from season two are not returning, Michael Kelly is back as Mike November, station chief in Venezuela. Abbie Cornish makes a surprise return as Dr. Cathy Mueller, Ryan’s love interest from season one. Betty Gabriel joins season 3 as Elizabeth Wright a new Chief of Station. James Cosmo is also a fresh cast member playing the mysterious Luca. Michael Pena is confirmed to be joining the third season for at least one episode though his role is set to expand in season four. Nina Hoss, Peter Gunness, and Alexej Manvelov round out the cast for the latest Ryanverse adventure. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 3 was released on Amazon Prime on December 21st, 2022.
Season 3 of Jack Ryan was announced ahead of the season two release in February 2019. In October 2019, it was confirmed that Paul Scheuring would be taking over as showrunner from Carlton Cuse. By January 2020, Scheuring had departed the project with Vaun Wilmott taking over to steady the ship. Production was hit with huge delays and setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October 2021, the show was renewed for the fourth season, and added Michael Pena to the cast of season three. In May 2022, reports confirmed that the fourth season would be the final season and that a potential spin-off with Michael Pena was being considered. In September 2022, Amazon announced the much-anticipated release date of December 21st, 2022. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 3 was released on December 21st, 2022 on the streaming platform Amazon Prime.
