A couple in Victorian England are haunted by a paranormal past

Nathan Appleby and his wife Charlotte inherit a large estate in late Victorian England. Nathan works in the bourgeoning field of psychology while Charlotte is a photographer innovating in the new format. The pair work together to turn the farmland into a profitable source of income. Soon however, they are beset with a series of supernatural events that test their relationship to the limits.
