Synopsis
In Paper Girls season 1, Erin has just moved to Stony Stream and met new friends MacKenzie, KJ and Tiffany. On the morning of November 1st, 1988, the girls are out delivering papers when they are caught in a battle between two fighting factions of time-travelers. Transported to the future through their encounter with a mysterious time machine, the girls are trapped in an unfamiliar time. Hunted by The Old Watch, militants seeking to outlaw time travel, the girls must escape from the future and return home to the past while facing the fate of their future selves.

Paper Girls Season 1 is a science fiction mystery television series produced by Amazon Studios, Plan B and Legendary Television. It is based on the comic book of the same name by Brian K. Vaughn and Cliff Chiang.
Season 1 has an all-female roster of directors including Georgi Banks-Davies, Mairzee Almas, Destiny Ekaragha, and Karen Gaviola. Each of the directors handles two of the first season's eight episodes. The show is written by Stephany Folsom and Fola Goke-Pariola. Legendary Hollywood icon Brad Pitt is an executive producer of the show alongside comic creator Brian K. Vaughn and illustrator Cliff Chiang.
Paper Girls season 1 features Sofia Rosinsky, Fina Strazza, Riley Lai Nelet, and Camryn Jones in the leading roles of MacKenzie, KJ, Erin, and Tiffany. Additional casting includes Adina Porter as Prioress, Nate Corddry as Larry, and Ali Wong as older Erin. Paper Girls Season 1 was released on Amazon Prime Video on July 29, 2022.
