Centered on interviews with prisoners who are living through a life sentence, Season 4 continues to lift the lid on some of the most of the most terrifying murder cases in history. The stories from the perpetrators range from tales of premeditated murder to the sudden act of self-defense all the way to ruinous accidents. From the young to the old, these interviews reveal the motives and memories behind the murders. Beyond the gory and gruesome, I Am A Killer also investigates the inner workings of the legal system and through uncovering the lives of these felons to date, the prison system is also under the spotlight. The show does not hide from the lived experiences of family members and friends who have been affected by the acts. Each individual crime is unique but the series as a whole tries to answer that timeless and terrifying question: ‘what drives a person to commit murder?’
