Synopsis
The place: East High. The time: 13 years since Disney filmed "High School Musical" here. Enter new drama teacher Miss Jenn and her plan to create the first-ever production, High School Musical: The Musical. Enter Nini, not exactly a shoe-in for the lead role of Gabriela but she's going for it anyway. Enter Nini’s ex-boyfriend Ricky, a skater who suddenly wants to be in the show, probably just to hound her. But Nini already has a new boyfriend -- a choice one named E.J., who is also interested in playing Troy. Then there’s Gina, the new transfer student, who is after the lead. As the weeks close in on opening night, our characters face an endless array of calamities -- lies, backstabbing, treachery, internal investigations, burning buildings, karaoke. But by season’s end, this talented troupe is determined to put "High School Musical" on stage without putting their dreams on hold. And let's not forget the special guest: YOU!
