The Best Elvis Presley Movies Ranked: Where to Stream the King's Most Iconic Films Online

Updated on

Elvis Presley is widely known as the King of Rock and Roll, however his career also extended to the film industry. The Mississippi native made his acting debut in 1956 with the Western musical Love Me Tender and went on to appear in 31 films throughout the 1950s and 1960s. A number of his films were beloved by audiences, enough that they appear in the highest grossing films of their respective year including Loving You and Jailhouse Rock in 1957, 1961’s Blue Hawaii, Girls! Girls! Girls! the following year, and Viva Las Vegas in 1964.

Despite being criticized for his acting abilities, Presley had a natural charm and charisma on screen that endeared him to audiences. His films often featured a musical element, with him performing several songs throughout. Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 biopic aptly titled Elvis starred Austin Butler in the titular role and went on to earn over $288 million at the worldwide box office along with several Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Actor. Presley’s contributions to the film industry earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 and he continues to be remembered as one of the most iconic figures in both music and film history.
