Synopsis
Kirie and Shuichi find themselves in the middle of a town driven into madness by a sudden obsession with spirals
The inhabitants of the quiet coastal town of Kurôzu-Cho begin to become obsessed with spirals, plunging them into insanity. As the situation erupts, high school student Kirie and her boyfriend Shuichi find themselves in the middle, struggling to make sense of it all as they search for a way out.

Ari Aster produces Junji Ito’s creepy anime horror adaption for Adult Swim
Uzumaki Season 1 is the first season of the horror anime series produced by Production IG and Adult Swim. The 4-episode season is based on horror manga artist Junji Ito’s the manga series of the same name. Uzumaki is directed by Hiroshi Nagahama, Aki Itami adapts the screenplay, and Drive provides the animation. The series takes place entirely in black and white, mimicking the original manga’s style. Colin Stetson (Hereditary) composes the haunting score, while Ari Aster (Midsommar) and Lars Knudsen produce.
The series’ protagonist Kirie Goshima, is voiced by Japanese actress and singer Uki Satake while Shin-ichiro Miki voices her character’s boyfriend, Shuichi Saito. Other cast members include Toshio Furukawa as Kirie's father, Takashi Matsuyama as Shuichi's father, Mariya Ise, Ami Fukushima, Kouichi Toochika, Katsutoshi Matsuzaki, Mika Doi, Tatsumaru Tachibana, Wataru Hatano, and others.
