Uzumaki is a horror anime series produced by Production IG and Adult Swim that follows the story of a town slowly driven insane by an obsession with spirals. The 4-episode series is based on the manga created by horror manga artist Junji Ito, and is directed by Hiroshi Nagahama from a screenplay by Aki Itami. The series is entirely in black and white, in accordance with the original manga. Hereditary composer Colin Stetson creates the haunting score. The series is animated by Drive, and produced by Ari Aster (Midsommar) and Lars Knudsen.
Japanese actress and singer Uki Satake voices Kirie Goshima, a serious young high school student living in the cursed town of Kurôzu-Cho. Prolific actor Shin-ichiro Miki voices Kirie’s boyfriend, Shuichi Saito. Toshio Furukawa voices Kirie's father, while Takashi Matsuyama as Shuichi's father. Other cast members include Ami Fukushima, Katsutoshi Matsuzaki, Mariya Ise, Kouichi Toochika, Mika Doi, Tatsumaru Tachibana, Wataru Hatano, and more.
