The Crowded Room is a psychological thriller miniseries produced by Apple Studios. The miniseries is written by Akiva Goldsman, whose previous work includes co-creating several Star Trek and DC comics productions, writing I, Robot, and I Am Legend, and additionally an Oscar win for Best Adapted Screenplay for A Beautiful Mind. The miniseries is loosely based on Daniel Keyes’s 1981 biography The Minds of Billy Milligan, about the first man acquitted of a major crime due to suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID, previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder).
The miniseries stars Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Danny Sullivan, a troubled character loosely based on Billy Milligan. He is joined by Amanda Seyfried as Rya Goodwin, the officer who interrogates him. They are joined by a variety of other acting talent, including Emmy Rossum, Will Chase, Sasha Lane, Christopher Abbott, Emma Laird, Jason Isaacs, and others.
