Lionsgate’s The Continental dives further into the John Wick universe to bring the origins of Winston and his assassins’ hub hotel to the small screen
The Continental is an action-packed American limited series produced by Lionsgate Television. The series takes place within the John Wick universe, serving as a prequel to the films and focusing on the founding of the assassins’ hotel, The Continental, that plays a key role as a neutral territory in the films. The series comprises three 90-minute episodes, two directed by Albert Hughes (The Book of Eli), and one by Charlotte Brändström (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power). The creative team from the John Wick films are also on board for the series, including Keanu Reeves, Chad Stahelski, and Derek Kolstad.
The Continental’s distinctive owner, Winston, is played by Colin Woodell, who portrays a younger version of Ian McShane’s character in the films. Lawrence Riddick’s Charon, the hotel’s manager, is played by Ayomide Adegun. Mel Gibson plays a new character in the universe, Cormac, and Peter Greene takes on the role of clean-up expert Uncle Charlie. Katie McGrath (Supergirl) plays ‘The Adjudicator’, alongside other cast members Jessica Allain, Jeremy Bobb, and Nhung Kate.
