After a dire miscommunication, Stede and Edward are separated and heartbroken. While Stede rallies his remaining crew in search of a new pirate ship to pursue Edward, Edward returns to his old ways on the Revenge, his heart hardened. Will Stede find Edward before it’s too late?
Our Flag Means Death Season 2 is the upcoming second season of the pirate rom-com series produced by HBO Max. The series is written and created by David Jenkins (People of Earth). He is joined by Fernando Frias, who returns to direct some of season 2’s swashbuckling episodes. The story is loosely based on the life of Stede Bonnet, a wealthy 18th century landowner turned mediocre pirate, who eventually teamed up with the legendary Blackbeard.
Renowned New Zealand comic actor Rhys Darby returns to his role as the Gentleman Pirate, Stede Bonnet. Comic actor and director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) resumes his role as Stede’s friend and love interest, Edward Teach (aka Blackbeard). The rest of the season 2 cast is made up of Joel Fry, Ewen Bremner, Samba Schutte, Con O’Neil, and others.
