Synopsis
An illicit affair ends in bloodshed in a small town in Texas in 1980
When a 1980s housewife in small-town Texas, USA becomes disenchanted by her life, she begins an affair with her married next door neighbour. But as she becomes progressively more unhinged and uninhibited, events take a bloody turn.

Nicole Kidman produces the HBO miniseries based on gruesome true events
Love & Death is an American crime drama miniseries produced by Lionsgate TV for HBO Max. The miniseries is based on the true story of the brutal murder in 1980 of Betty Gore, allegedly by her neighbour Candy Montgomery, after she’d had an affair with her husband, Allan. The series is mostly based on information provided in the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs by Jim Atkinson. Lesli Linka Glatter — who previously directed episodes of Mad Men, Twin Peaks, and Homeland — helms the series’ episodes, and David E. Kelley writes the screenplay for Love & Death. Nicole Kidman executive produces, alongside David E. Kelley and Lesli Linka Glatter.
Elizabeth Olsen portrays Candy Montgomery, the progressively unhinged housewife. Allan Gore, the husband participating in the illicit affair, is portrayed by Jesse Plemons (The Power of the Dog), and Lily Rabe plays his unfortunate wife, Betty Gore. Additional members of the cast include Krysten Ritter, Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey, and Patrick Fugit.
