Dead Boy Detectives is a supernatural detective comedy series produced for Netflix. The series is based on the characters called the Dead Boy Detectives created by Neil Gaiman for his comic book series The Sandman and follows them as they attempt to outrun death while setting up a paranormal detective agency on Earth. Neil Gaiman’s other notable works that have been adapted into television series include Good Omens, American Gods, and Anansi Boys, among others. Dead Boy Detectives takes place within the Sandman universe and is adapted for the small screen by Steve Yockey, who is known for his work on the hit HBO thriller series The Flight Attendant.

Dead Boy Detectives stars George Rexstrew as Edwin Payne and Jayden Revri as Charles Rowland, two recently deceased boys who return to Earth as ghosts and investigate supernatural crimes. While Rexstrew is a relative newcomer, Revri has previously starred in Disney’s series The Lodge, and featured in Fate: The Winx Saga and Innocent. The are joined by Kassius Nelson playing the boys' friend and clairvoyant, Crystal, Lukas Gage as the trickster Cat King, David Iacono as the villainous David the Demon, Michael Beach as a walrus trapped in a human body called Tragic Mick, Joshua Colley as a teen who can see ghosts, and Lindsey Gort as a librarian with a secret.
