The Dead Boy Detectives from Neil Gaiman’s DC Sandman universe solve supernatural mysteries in Netflix series

Dead Boy Detectives Season 1 is the first season of the supernatural detective comedy series produced for Netflix. The series takes place within the Sandman universe, and is based on the characters, the Dead Boy Detectives, created by Neil Gaiman, who appear in the Sandman comics. Gaiman is the creator of other popular comics that have been adapted into beloved television series, including Good Omens, American Gods, and Anansi Boys, among others. Steve Yockey, creator of the hit HBO series The Flight Attendant, adapts Dead Boy Detectives for the small screen.

The first season of Dead Boy Detectives stars George Rexstrew as Edwin Payne, and Jayden Revri as Charles Rowland, the two ghosts teenage boys who investigate supernatural happenings. Rexstrew is a television newcomer, while Revri starred previously in Disney’s series The Lodge, and had roles in Fate: The Winx Saga and Innocent. The duo are joined by Kassius Nelson, who plays their friend, the clairvoyant Crystal Palace. Lukas Gage also joins as the trickster Cat King, and David Iacono takes on the role of the villain David the Demon. Michael Beach plays Tragic Mick, a walrus trapped in a human body and an ally to the boys, while Joshua Colley plays a teen who can see ghosts, and Lindsey Gort plays a librarian with a big secret. The cast is rounded out by Briana Cuoco, Ruth Connell, Yuyu Kitamura, Max Jenkins, Caitlin Reilly, and Jenn Lyon.
