Tom Sturridge returns as Lord Morpheus in second season of Netflix fantasy series
The Sandman season 2 is the upcoming second season of the fantasy-drama TV series developed by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer and Allan Heinberg for Netflix. It is based on Gaiman’s DC comic book of the same name originally released in 1989. The series delves into the captivating tale of Morpheus, the embodiment of dreams and a distinguished member of the illustrious Endless. Captured by a mysterious occult ceremony in the year 1916, Morpheus endures a century-long imprisonment before finally breaking free. Determined to reclaim harmony within his dominion, the Dreaming, he ventures forth on a quest to restore balance and ensure the tranquility of the dream world.
Tom Sturridge reprises his role as the enigmatic Morpheus while Gwendoline Christie returns to mesmerize as the formidable ruler of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar. Joining the cast for The Sandman's second season are the talented Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander and Vivian Acheampong, portraying the characters of Death, Desire and Lucienne, respectively.
