What to know
Deaf Native American Marvel character Echo gets own spin-off series
Echo is an action-adventure superhero television series from Disney. It is a spin-off of the Disney+ Hawkeye series. The show is created by Marion Dayre, who previously served as a writer on Better Call Saul and The Act. Sydney Freeland (Reservation Dogs, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds) directs episodes for the series alongside Australian filmmaker Catriona McKenzie (Satellite Boy, Kiki and Kitty).
Alaqua Cox reprises her role as protagonist Maya Lopez/ Echo, a deaf athlete returning back to New York City, after first appearing in the Hawkeye series. Alaqua Cox is also deaf in real life. Zahn McClarnon plays Maya’s father, William, and Devery Jacobs plays Julie. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/ Kingpin. Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene, Chaske Spencer and Andrew Howard make up the main cast.
