Odessa Young (The Daughter, Mothering Sunday) co-stars opposite Elordi as Amy Mulvaney, with Olivia DeJonge (Elvis) as Ella. Ciarán Hinds (Belfast, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) plays the older Dorrigo Evans with Heather Mitchell (Spellbinder) as the older Ella. The Amazon Prime series is based on Richard Flanagan’s World War II novel ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’. The book won the 2014 Booker Prize.
The television adaptation is directed by Justin Kurzel, who serves as an executive producer with Shaun Grant, Jo Porter, Rachel Gardner and Flanagan. The series is produced by Curio Pictures and Screen Australia. It will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
