The Night Agent Season 2 is an upcoming action-thriller conspiracy television series for Netflix based on Matthew Quirk's book of the same name. The show is created by Shawn Ryan who previously created FX's The Shield. It follows FBI Agent Peter Sutherland who is informed by former tech CEO Rose Larkin that there is a hidden informant deeply embedded in the highest levels of the United States government, plotting a conspiracy to overthrow the President.
According to Deadline, The Night Agent quickly rose to become the third most-watched debut on Netflix in its first four days. Given its impressive performance, a second season renewal was announced. The Wrap provided additional validation of its success by reporting that within a month, the series became the sixth most-viewed show on the popular streaming platform.
Gabriel Basso returns to play the lead role of Peter Sutherland in season 2. The cast also includes Amanda Warren, Arienne Mandi, Louis Herthum, Berto Colon, Brittany Snow, and Teddy Sears who join the show for the second season.
