Sanditon - Series 3 (2023)

Developed by Andrew Davies, Season 3 of Sanditon marks the final chapter in the series

Sanditon Season 3 is a period drama based on an unfinished manuscript by the British author Jane Austen. The show is created by  Andrew Davies who used the majority of what was written by Austen to create the characters and then developed the story independently thereafter. Davies is a notable screenwriter of repute having written television series since the late 1970s, including a few notable Jane Austen adaptations. He is also credited as screenwriter, alongside Richard Curtis and Helen Fielding, of two Bridget Jones movies.

The cast features Rose Williams playing Charlotte Heywood and Cai Bridgen portraying her fiance Ralph Starling as the pair return to Sanditon. Crystal Clarke is Georgiana Lambe and Ben Lloyd-Hughes plays Alexander Colbourne who still holds a flame for Charlotte. Edward Davis joins the cast as the mysterious new character, Lord Montrose. It is confirmed that Tom Weston-Jones will not reprise his role as Colonel Francis Lennox while Charlotte Spencer is another absentee from the cast. Sanditon Season 3 was released on PBS on March 19th, 2023.
