Shaunt Nigoghossian directed the entire first season. Blood of Zeus Season 2 features directors such as Jae H. Kim and Jae Woo Kim.
Set against the backdrop of ancient Greece, the story follows a young man named Heron. Discovering his divine lineage as Zeus' son, he is tasked with the responsibility of protecting the world from demonic forces. However, the situation grows dangerous as Hera, Zeus' wife, forms an alliance with his sinister half-brother, Seraphim. Amidst escalating conflicts in Olympus, Heron's demigod abilities awaken, propelling him into a grand battle.
Derek Phillips provides the lead voice in Blood of Zeus, reprising his role as Heron. He previously starred in the NBC sports-drama television series Friday Night Lights. Jessica Henwick also stars in Blood of Zeus as Alexia. Additional cast members include Jason O'Mara as Zeus, Claudia Christian as Hera, Elias Toufexis as Seraphim and Matthew Mercer as Hermes.
The creators of the show, Charley and Vlas Parlapanides confirmed that they were planning for five seasons in total. However the policy at Netflix is to take each season and assess the viewership before confirming a season renewal.
The show takes inspiration from the wide world of Greek mythology. While it takes some liberties with the storyline, most of the characters such as Zeus, Hera, and Seraphim can all be drawn back to real Greek myth.
