What is Transformers One about?

Transformers One is an upcoming computer-animated action-adventure movie in the Transformers franchise. The movie is directed by Josh Cooley, who is known for directing Toy Story 4 and co-writing the screenplay for Inside Out. Transformers One is written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari who are responsible for the script of Ant-Man and the Wasp. 

Who is starring in Transformers One?

Transformers One features Chris Hemsworth voicing Optimus Prime. Having made his name playing the Marvel character Thor, this movie marks his first voice acting role in an animated movie. He is joined by another former Avenger, actress Scarlett Johansson, who voices Elita, a member of the Autobots. Keegan-Michael Key stars as Bumbleee while Laurence Fishburne plays Alpha Trion. Jon Hamm is another member of the Autobots, starring as Sentinel Prime. Megatron, leader of the Decepticons is voiced by Brian Tyree Henry.

Is Transformers One connected to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts?

This animated Transformers movie does not connect to the live-action movies such as Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Bumblebee. Transformers One is a prequel that tells the story of how the feud began between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

Are they making Transformers 8?

The studio behind the Transformers franchise, Paramount confirmed that a sequel to the seventh instalment, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was in the works. In fact, Paramount announced both Transformers 8 and Transformers 9 at the same time to make up a new trilogy of movies. Transformers One however is a standalone movie in the franchise and is not considered part of the ongoing live-action movies. 

Is Steven Spielbeg involved in Transformers One?

Steven Spielberg is an executive producer on the movie alongside Brian Goldner, Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fisher, and Valerii An. Lorenzo di Bonaventura returns to produce the movie alongside Michael Bay and others. Industrial Light & Magic is handling the animation.
