Synopsis

Godzilla and Kong must team up in order to face down an ancient powerful threat

For thousands of years, an indomitable threat has been hidden on the planet. As it finally emerges from the shadows, set on wreaking havoc across the world, two terrifying Titans must become allies to defeat it. Godzilla and Kong have an ancient rivalry that they must put aside if the planet is to survive. As they set up to do battle, secrets are uncovered about the history of Skull Island and the primordial feud between their ancestors.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is a sci-fi monster movie produced by Legendary Pictures. The movie is a sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong and is the seventh movie in the MonsterVerse. The movie is directed by Adam Wingard who is the filmmaker behind Death Note and Godzilla vs. Kong. The screenplay is written by Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, and Jeremy Slater.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire features Dan Stevens in a leading role. Rebecca Hall returns as Dr. Ilene Andrews. Brian Tyree Henry also reprises his role as conspiracy theorist Bernie Hayes. Kaylee Hottle returns to play the character Jia. Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House all star in the movie. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was released in theaters on March 29, 2024.
