Synopsis

In 1850s Australia, Jack Dawkins is now a surgeon, having seemingly left his life of crime in London behind. But when an old, familiar face resurfaces in his life, his dormant thief persona, the Artful Dodger, reemerges.

The Artful Dodger Season 1 is the first season of the action-drama series produced by Sony Television, Curio Pictures, and Beach Road Pictures for Disney+. The season goes for 8 episodes and is based on Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist character Jack Dawkins, also known as the Artful Dodger. The Artful Dodger is the leader of the child gang of criminals trained by Fagin, who roam the streets of London committing petty crimes. James McNamara, David Maher, and David Taylor create the series, while McNamara, Vivienne Walshe, and Andrew and Dan Knight pen the script.
Game of Thrones actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster stars as the thief turned surgeon Jack Dawkins (aka the Artful Dodger). David Thewlis joins him as Jack’s notorious mentor, Fagin. Other cast members include Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox, Lucy-Rose Leonard as Belle’s sister, Lady Fanny Fox, Damon Herriman as Captain Gaines, and Damien Garvey as Governor Edmund Fox.
