Penance - Season 1 (2020)

Rosalie Douglas (Julie Graham, The Bletchley Circle) lives in a fog of heartache and denial. She has just lost her son and her marriage to Luke (Neil Morrissey, Line of Duty) is falling apart. Her teenage daughter has gone off the rails, wracked with grief and guilt over her brother’s unexplained death. Rosalie refuses to accept that her son’s death was an accident, despite support from her sympathetic priest (Art Malik, Homeland). The lives of the Douglas family are changed forever when they encounter Jed (Nico Mirallegro, Hollyoaks), a beautiful, charismatic young man they met at bereavement counseling. A spark of hope for the future is rekindled within the household. But underneath, a deadly and morally corrupt triangle is taking shape...
