Synopsis
When Vincent’s son goes missing in 1980s New York, he desperately turns to a giant blue puppet named Eric for help
In New York in the 1980s, Vincent is a puppeteer and creator of successful children’s television series Good Day Sunshine. But his life is turned upside down when his 9-year-old son, Edgar, goes missing, and he finds himself alienating everyone trying to aid him and turning instead to a giant blue monster puppet named Eric for help.

Welsh screenwriter Abi Morgan creates the series, and Lucy Forbes directs. Morgan’s previous works include The Split, Brick Lane, and The Iron Lady, while Forbes is known for her work on This Is Going to Hurt and The End of the F***ing World.

Acclaimed British actor Benedict Cumberbatch stars in Eric as Vincent, a desperate father searching for his missing son in 1980s New York City. Cumberbatch’s illustrious career includes starring roles in films and series such as Sherlock, The Imitation Game, 12 Years a Slave, and Doctor Strange, amongst many others. Ivan Howe, who plays Vincent’s 9-year-old son, Edgar. McKinley Belcher III plays lead detective Ledroit, and Gaby Hoffmann joins as Cassie.
