The 1980s were the most prolific time for the Friday the 13th franchise. The first eight instalments were released between 1980 and 1989 and introduced audiences to a new iconic slasher in Jason Voorhees. Although most of the films take place around the infamous Crystal Lake, they later deviate to also see him hack his way through Manhattan and even outer space in Jason X.
