Rachel McAdams stars alongside Abby Ryder Fortson in adaptation of beloved Judy Blume novel
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret is a coming-of-age dramedy film written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig for Lionsgate. Craig previously wrote and made her directorial debut with another coming-of-age film in 2016’s The Edge of Seventeen. Craig also produces Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret along with original writer Judy Blume. Other producers include Julie Ansell, Richard Sakai, Amy Brooks, Aldric La'auli Porter and Hollywood icon James L. Brooks. Brooks previously produced Craig’s The Edge of Seventeen and is best known for his work on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Simpsons and Broadcast News, just to name a few.
The legendary Hans Zimmer scores Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. Zimmer is an Academy Award winning composer scoring over 150 films ranging from 1994’s The Lion King to 2021’s Dune, both of which earned him his respective Oscars.
Abby Ryder Fortson portrays the titular Margaret Simon. She previously appeared as Cassie Lang in 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Another Marvel alum, Academy Award nominee Rachel McAdams, stars in the film as Margaret’s mother, Barbara. McAdams previously appeared in 2016’s Doctor Strange and its sequel. Benny Safdie stars as Margaret’s father, Herb while Academy Award winner Kathy Bates portrays Margaret’s grandmother, Sylvia Simon.
