The Musical - Season 1 (2011)

On Saturday 29th March 2014, same sex marriage became legal in England and Wales and to mark this historic milestone, viewers got a front row seat at one of the first gay weddings to take place. Grooms Benjamin Till and Nathan Taylor wrote and staged their entire wedding as a musical – with sung vows, sung readings and show stopping ensembles featuring the whole congregation of family, friends and special guests including a heartfelt duet from the grooms’ mums. Stephen Fry introduces and commentates on the service which in addition to the marriage itself, also features very special performances, messages and appearances from Olivia Newton John, The Feeling, Boy George, Will Young, West End leading lady Hannah Waddingham, Paul O’Grady, and Jon Snow.
