Where to Watch Fantastic Four Movies & TV Shows (And Which One Is The Best)

Updated on

This guide will show you where to stream every Fantastic Four movie and series online, and also let you know which iteration is the best.

Since the beginning, the Fantastic Four has had a wild and bumpy ride making the transition to film and television. In fact, the heroes were initially supposed to make their cinematic debut in 1994. The movie was filmed, edited, and (almost) ready to go…but it was so bad that the studio ended up scrapping it at the last minute.

The Fantastic Four was then rebooted in 2005 with a much more A-List cast, including Jessica Alba and Chris Evans…and again in 2015 with a cast including Kate Mara and Michael B. Jordan. As you can probably tell from all the reboots, none of the film versions ever became profitable or popular enough to build their own franchises. Though in recent years they’ve started being viewed more favorably.

But Marvel’s upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps looks to have everything the franchise finally needs to hit big on the silver screen: a great cast (including Pedro Pascal), a fantastic setting, and an emotional story.

In television, the Fantastic Four have fared much better with numerous animated series being released throughout the years. Though none of them lasted very long, kids everywhere remember growing up with some iteration of the Fantastic Four on television.

What is the Best Fantastic Four Movie and Show to Watch?

While it had a somewhat tepid release at its premiere, the 2005 Fantastic Four movie is actually a lot of fun, and in recent years it’s started getting a lot more love now that nostalgia has started settling in. Plus, Chris Evans reprised his role as the Human Torch in a hilarious cameo scene in Deadpool & Wolverine, reinvigorating interest in the ‘05 movie.

You should also check out Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, which many fans say is underrated. Unlike the previous versions of Fantastic Four, which heavily pull from the comics, World’s Greatest Heroes creates tons of original stories. Plus, it’s currently the most contemporary animated version of the show, so modern viewers will appreciate the series’ superior graphics and sound quality.

    #3

Fred and Barney Meet The Thing is a 60-minute Saturday morning animated package show produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions from September 8, 1979 to December 1, 1979 on NBC. It contained the following segments: ⁕The New Fred and Barney Show ⁕The Thing Despite the title, the two segments remained separate and did not crossover with one another. Fred, Barney and the Thing were only featured together during the show's opening title sequence and in brief bumpers between segments. The unusual combination of a Marvel superhero and The Flintstones was possible because, at this time, Marvel Comics owned the rights to several Hanna-Barbera franchises and were, in fact, publishing comic books based upon them; The Flintstones was one of these. For the 1979-80 season, the series was expanded to ninety-minutes with the addition of The New Shmoo episodes and retitled Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo.
