The Art of Joy (2024)

Italian drama based on epic novel by Goliarda Sapienza 

Modesta grows up in rural Sicily at the beginning of the 20th century. When a tragic event takes her away from her family, she joins a monastery. Her charm and tenacity appeals to the Mother Superior, who takes her under her wing. Modesta ends up at the Princess of Brandiforti’s villa where she pursues pleasure and happiness, regardless of what others think, and begins to understand her sexuality, desires and ambition.
