Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will be available to watch on Netflix from September 19, 2024.
On August 20, 1989, Lyle and Erik Menendez brutally murdered their parents, José and Kitty in their home in Beverly Hills, California. Although they were originally not suspected in the killings, investigators eventually narrowed in on the two. However, during their trials, new evidence of years of abuse by their parents came to light, putting into question if the murders were done in cold blood or in self defence.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is an upcoming true crime drama series produced by Netflix. The series is the second season in director Ryan Murphy’s Monster anthology. The first season focused on the serial killer Jeffry Dahmer, while the second recounts the story of the Menendez brothers, who were convicted in 1996 of the brutal murder of their parents after alleged years of abuse.
Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez star as the two Menendez brothers, Erik and Lyle. Koch, who portrays the younger brother, Erik, is known for his roles in horror films Swallowed and They/Them. Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who plays the older brother, Lyle, is known for his portrayal of Spencer Cassadine on ABC’s General Hospital. Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny portray Jose and Kitty Menendez, Erik and Lyle's parents. Nathan Lane takes on the role of Dominick Dunne, the journalist who covered the trail of the brothers for Vanity Fair. Other cast members include Dallas Roberts, Jason Butler Harner, Enrique Murciano, Gil Ozeri, Tessa Auberjonois, Michael Gladis, Drew Powell, Jade Pettyjohn, Charlie Hall, Tanner Stine, Larry Clarke, and Marlene Forte.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will be released on Netflix in late 2024.
