Synopsis
In a complex case that captivated the US, the Menendez brothers were convicted of murdering their parents in 1996
On August 20, 1989, Lyle and Erik Menendez brutally murdered their parents, José and Kitty, in their home in Beverly Hills, California. Although they were originally not suspected in the killings, investigators eventually narrowed in on the two. However, during their trials, new evidence of years of abuse by their parents came to light, putting into question if the murders were done in cold blood or in self-defence.
