Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a fictional period drama miniseries that serves as a prequel to Netflix’s massively successful Bridgerton. Queen Charlotte is produced by Shondaland for Netflix, and gives Queen Charlotte an origin story, telling the tale of the romance that resulted in the diverse world seen on Bridgerton. Shonda Rhimes writes the series, and executive produces alongside Betsy Beers and Tom Verica. Verica also serves as director for all six episodes of the series.
India Amarteifio portrays the young Queen Charlotte, and Corey Mylchreest plays the young King George. Arsema Thomas appears as a young Lady Agatha Danbury, and Connie Jenkins-Greig plays the young Violet Ledger. Golda Rosheuvel reprises her role as the contemporary Queen Charlotte from Bridgerton, as does Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, and Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton.
