The Expendables 4 is once again rated R, ensuring no holds barred mercenary mayhem
The Expendables 4 is the fourth instalment in the action film series produced by Millennium Films. Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) directs from the original story written by Kurt Wimmer and Tad Daggerhart, and adapted into a screenplay with the help of Spenser Cohen and Max Adams. The Expendables franchise follows a group of elite mercenaries as they take on new high-stakes missions around the world. The film is once again rated-R, after the PG-13 rating on Expendables 3 garnered a lacklustre response from fans and critics alike.
The previous Expendables films saw Sylvester Stallone take the main role as the leader of the mercenary group Barney Ross. While he returns for The Expendables 4, the film marks his last outing as the character. His second-in-command, knife expert Lee Christmas, is once again played by Jason Statham. Also returning to their roles are Dolph Lundgren as Gunner Jensen the combat expert, and Randy Couture as Toll Road the demolition man. In addition to these formidable action stars, Megan Fox, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Andy Garcia also feature in the film.
