Keri Russell returns as the ambassador to the U.K. in second season of Netflix political series
The Diplomat season 2 is the second season of the political-thriller TV series created by Debora Cahn for Netflix. Cahn has had an impressive career writing on such TV shows like Homeland, Vinyl, The West Wing and Grey's Anatomy. She's written multiple episodes of the series and serves as an executive producer alongside star Keri Russell, Janice Williams and Simon Cellan Jones. Directors on The Diplomat include Jones (Arthur the King), Andrew Bernstein (Ozark), Liza Johnson (American Horror Story) and Alex Graves (Game of Thrones).
Keri Russell reprises her role as Katherine "Kate" Wyler in the second season of The Diplomat. She is best known for her portrayal of Elizabeth Jennings, a KGB officer hiding out in the United States, in FX's The Americans. The West Wing's Allison Janney plays Vice President Grace Penn. Miguel Sandoval stars as Miguel Ganon, Nana Mensah plays Billie Appiah and Michael McKean portrays U.S. President William Rayburn.
