The film is based on the story of real-life cricket player Jhulan Goswami and the numerous obstacles she had to endure to fulfill her dream of playing cricket professionally.
Prosit Roy is best known for directing the supernatural horror film, Pari, in 2018. Abhishek Banerjee, who previously collaborated with Roy on Pari, handles the film's screenplay. Pratik Shah executed the film’s cinematography following his previous work on the TV shows, Jubilee and Kaafir.
Playing the role of Jhulan Goswami, one of India's most celebrated cricketing icons, is actress and producer Anushka Sharma. She is recognized for her performances in such films as Sultan, Dil Dhadakne Do and Sanju. She is joined by Atul Sharma, Manoj Anand, Sammy Jonas Heaney, Sofia Price, Parvinder Kaur, Ahmareen Anjum and Bharat Mistri.
