Synopsis
Things aren’t as they seem after tragedy rocks a country town
In the fictional town of Riversend, a young priest kills five parishioners when he opens fire on his congregation. A year after the tragedy, journalist Martin Scarsden arrives in Riversend to write a feature story about the anniversary of the event. Met with hostility from the local residents, Martin realises there is much more to the story than has been told and races to uncover the truth.

Stan produces original series, Scrublands, based on Chris Hammer’s novel
Scrublands is a series on Stan, and is an adaptation of Aussie author Chris Hammer’s novel of the same name. Scrublands is written by Felicity Packard, Kelsey Munro and Jock Serong, and directed by Greg McLean. Executive Producers on the show are Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie for Stan, and Michael Healy and Andy Ryan from the 9Network.
Luke Arnold leads the cast as Martin Scarsden, the journalist who arrives in Riversend to write a feature story on the town’s tragedy. Bella Heathcote plays a local bookshop owner, with Jay Ryan as the town’s young, charismatic priest, Byron Swift. Victoria Thaine and Adam Zwar are also in the main cast.
