Synopsis
Marking the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth in 1770, a documentary series that focuses on the real, complex and often difficult man behind the great composer. He is the world’s most famous composer; his music is the soundtrack to every great ceremony in the world. But if ever a man struggled for his art, it was Beethoven. His was a tragic, dramatic life: beset by deafness, lost loves, and darkness. This series take a radical approach to a music biography: telling Beethoven’s story in the present tense, through a cast of internationally famous musicians and conductors, but unpacked by the real words of Beethoven himself.
