Anika Noni Rose reprises her role as Princess Tiana in Disney+ series
Tiana is an upcoming animated television series on Disney+. The series is created by Joyce Sherri, who serves as the show’s head writer and director. She replaced Stella Meghie as showrunner in October 2023, while Meghie stayed on as an executive producer alongside Frozen co-director Jennifer Lee. Tiana is a sequel to Disney’s animated feature film The Princess and The Frog. The Princess and The Frog made history by featuring the first Black Disney Princess in history.
Anika Noni Rose reprises her role from The Princess and The Frog, as she returns to Walt Disney to voice the titular Tiana. She is known for her previous performances in Dreamgirls and a recurring role on The Good Wife. Oprah Winfrey also returns to reprise her role from the movie as Tiana’s mother, Eudora.
