Wicked: Part Two is an upcoming musical epic movie. It is the second half of Universal Pictures’ screen adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, Wicked. The stage show is inspired by characters from L. Frank Baum’s 1900 book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”, and Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West”.
Who is in the cast of Wicked: Part Two?
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Granda lead the star-studded cast of the Wicked films, as the witches Elphaba Thropp and Glinda Upland. Jonathan Bailey plays Fiyero Tigelaar, a prince and schoolmate of the two witches. Michelle Yeoh is Madame Morrible, with Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.
Ethan Slater is the munchkin Boq, with Marissa Bode as Elphaba’s younger sister, Nessarose Thropp. Bowen Yang plays Pfannee, with Bronwyn James as ShenShen and Keala Settle as Miss Coddle, a new character created for the film adaptation.
Who is the creative team behind Wicked: Part Two?
Wicked: Part Two is directed by Jon M. Chu, who’s worked on Crazy Rich Asians and In The Heights. Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music and lyrics of the Broadway musical, returns to compose the score for the film alongside the film’s screenwriter Winnie Holzman, who wrote the book of the original musical. Wicked: Part Two is produced by the original Broadway Wicked producers Marc Platt (Legally Blonde, La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen) and David Stone.
