Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White and Lily James star in A24 Von Erich wrestling biopic ‘The Iron Claw’
The Iron Claw is a sports drama biographical film based on the true story of the Von Erich family. After the patriarch, Fritz, pushed his six sons to compete in pro-wrestling, five out of the six sons suffered an early death. The youngest brother, Chris Von Erich, is omitted from the film to cut down on the runtime. The film is named after a professional wrestling hold called an ‘iron claw’. Sean Durkin wrote and directed the film, which is produced by A24, Access Entertainment, BBC Film and House Productions.
Zac Efron stars in The Iron Claw as Kevin Von Erich, a World Class Wrestling Champion, and last remaining Von Erich son. Jeremy Allen White plays Kerry Von Erich, with Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich. Maura Tierney plays Doris Von Erich, with Holt McCallany as the family patriarch and former professional wrestler, Fritz Von Erich. Stanley Simons plays Mike Von Eirch, with Lily James as Pam Adkisson. The film also features Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Brady Pierce, Aaron Dean Eisenberg, Kevin Anton, Cazzey Louis Cereghino, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Ryan Nemeth and Scott Innes.
