Michael B. Jordan directs and returns in starring role
Creed III is a sports drama film starring Michael B. Jordan, who ask serves as the film's director. It is his directorial debut. The film is produced by MGM Studios, and shot with IMAX cameras and technology for the first time in the Rocky franchise. Creed III is the ninth movie in the franchise.
The film also stars Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Jonathan Majors, with a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin. Ryan Coogler, who directed the Creed (2015), was also involved in developing the story. Creed III is the first film in the franchise where Sylvester Stallone will not star, but the actor remains a producer.
The first Rocky film was released in 1976, and went on to become a global success, winning the Academy Award for Best Director and Best Picture. The Rocky franchise has made nearly two billion dollars in revenue.
