F1 The Movie (2025)

F1 is a true spectacle. Not only do you have the star power of Brad Bitt and Javier Bardem, but you have speeding cars, high-stakes races, and excellent cinematography that makes you feel like you’re in the middle of one of the world’s biggest races. I was also lucky enough to see F1 in IMAX, and I totally recommend that if you live near an IMAX or 4DX theater. That is absolutely the best way to watch all the zooming, vrooming action of the movie. If you’re a fan of films like The Fast and the Furious or other more realistic racing films like Ford v Ferrari, this movie is for you.

F1 boasts all the makings of an inspiring and emotional comeback film with its tale of the former prodigy making a shocking return to their sport after an injury derailed their career. However, its focus on racing helps set it apart from the typical sports drama. F1 boasts incredible attention to detail, and its collaboration with the FIA has paid off with hyperrealistic racing scenes that transport car and racing lovers right onto the track. Even non-racing fans can enjoy the fast pace and Brad Pitt's charismatic performance.

Tony Scott once followed up Top Gun by making Days of Thunder, basically Top Gun, but in a race car. And now Joseph Kosinski has followed up Top Gun: Maverick by making F1 The Movie, basically Top Gun: Maverick, but in a race car. And it pretty much works. It won't win any Oscars for script or acting, but it's a fun sports movie that looks amazing and has actors who look amazing and cool race sequences. This is a summer fun movie, and it's nice to have one that's a stand alone film.
