Synopsis

Season 5 sees the inclusion of Formula One World Drivers’ Champion, Max Verstappen who had boycotted the previous three seasons. Personal rivalries between the drivers are set to flare up in the heat of the race and more than a few controversies await the teams behind the scenes.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5 is a documentary television show produced by Netflix and Formula One. This docudrama is executive produced by James Gay-Rees, who has Formula One experience as the producer of the 2010 documentary Senna. The production company, Box to Box Films, is dedicated to creating documentaries in a variety of different sports. Formula 1: Drive to Survive is one of their flagship projects and has already won a selection of awards.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5 features the towering talent of Max Verstappen. His participation in the show is a coup for the series as he did not have direct involvement in previous seasons. His rival Lewis Hamilton and new teammate George Russell are both striving for success while Sebastian Vettel says goodbye to the sport.
