Princess Mononoke

A Studio Ghibli classic, Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke explores the conflict between the natural world and industralisation when a young prince called Ashitaka struggles between the spirits and gods of the forest, and the humans to use their resources without consideration.

Tron

A programmer is transported inside a computer system and has to fight his way out of the digital world. Tron is about alternate realities and the blending of human consciousness with digital avatars, similar to Na’vi bodies used as avatars for human consciousness in Avatar.

Enemy Mine

A human and an alien crash-land on a hostile planet in Enemy Mine. In order to survive, they have to put aside their differences. Starring Dennis Quaid, the movie was the first Western science-fiction movie screened at cinemas in the Soviet Union.

Dune & Dune: Part Two
