Heera Mandi's royal courtesans presented the same mystery, talents, and allure as the Geisha's in Japan. From guarding some of the most scandalous royal secrets to providing a rich array of cultural entertainment, the royal courtesans of Heera Mandi have a lifetime of stories and experiences to share. Season 1 follows three graceful generations of royal courtesans as they navigate love, life, and changing politics in an age where mistresses held the secret key to power.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali brings his grandeur and regal magic to streaming
Heeramandi is an upcoming period-drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. A master at creating grand, regal sets as seen in his films Devdas, Ramleela, and Gangubai, the filmmaker is now bringing his larger than life royal setup to the longform OTT series, Heeramandi. A series which recreates the golden age of Mughal empire and takes us through the busy streets of Heera Mandi through three generations of courtesans living in the infamous kothas in Lahore. The initial idea for this show came to Bhansali over 14 years ago and the series pays homage to other period-drama masterpieces such as Pakeezah, Mughal e Azam, and Mother India. Season 1 is based on a story written by Moin Beg, which was later adapted to a screenplay by Mitakshara Kumar, Snehil Dixit Mehra, and Vibhu Puri.
Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Manisha Koirala headline the series as the beautiful courtesans of Heera Mandi. They're joined by Fardeen Khan, Paresh Pahuja, and Tarun Arora in undisclosed supporting roles.
