Synopsis
Regency, drama, and romance: A story about Queen Charlotte’s royal life in the making
Queen Charlotte is destined to wed King George, but their courtship is far from your ordinary tale of love. Feisty and ambitious young Charlotte looks for more than a crown to be swept off her feet. Shonda Rhimes and Netflix add a tasteful new chapter to the royal Bridgerton series
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, is a limited series period drama that follows the life of Queen Charlotte leading up to the throne. Produced under the banner of Shondaland, the production house behind fan favourite shows like Grey's Anatomy, Bridgerton and How to get away with murder. Shonda Rhimes serves as the executive producer on the series. The show's first season is directed by Tom Verica, you may also recognise him from his work on other hit Netflix series such as Inventing Anna, The Umbrella Academy, and Bridgerton.
Golda Rosheuval, and Adjoa Andoh join the cast to continue their roles Queen Charlotte, and Lady Danbury. Actor India Amarteifo is locked in to play the young Queen Charlotte, and Arsema Thomas appears as the young Lady Danbury. The extended cast includes Ruth Gemmell, Hugh Sachs, Michelle Fairley and Richard Cunningham.
